“Happiness is love. Full stop.” 268 men, 75 years, and Harvard University can’t be wrong!

“Happiness is love. Full stop.”

That’s the “the straightforward five-word conclusion” of the “seventy-five years and twenty million dollar” recently published about the Harvard Grant Study Triumphs of Experience by George Vaillant The study has followed 268 men since 1938 with the goal of “determin[ing] as best as possible what factors contribute most strongly to human flourishing.”

The conclusion is not an Earth-shattering surprise, but certainly underscores the importance of love, warmth, and connection in our lives and the direct correlation of such to our expereience of joy, vitality, and fulfillment in life.

Check out a great article by Brent Lambert for more about Grant Study.
